The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will officially hit GM showrooms this month. But prior to its official splash into the market, Chevrolet has unveiled four new concepts of the 2016 Camaro at the ongoing Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center on November 3 to 6.
Each of the four new customized concepts of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro demonstrates the personalization possibilities due to the carmaker’s new lineup of accessories and performance parts.
The four new concepts are the Camaro Chevrolet Performance, the Camaro Black, the Camaro Krypton, and the Camaro Hyper.
The four concepts of the Gen Six Camaro are among the more than 20 custom vehicles put on display by Chevrolet at this year’s SEMA Show.
Gen Six concepts
The Camaro Chevrolet Performance concept is a Summit White Camaro SS with red accents. It features performance upgrades and lowered suspension over a conceptual 20-inch lightweight aluminum wheels.
The Camaro Black concept is the opposite of the Camaro Chevrolet Performance concept. It is a blacked-out version of the Camaro SS with a Mosaic Black Metallic exterior with darkened trim all around, tinted glass, and black 20-inch aluminum wheels. It also features a lowered suspension and a beefed-up performance.
Just its name alone would already indicate that the particular concept was taken from fiction, Superman fiction that is. Considered as the weirdest among the four concepts, the Camaro Krypton comes in a custom shade of electroluminescent Krypton Green paint. When the system is activated, illuminated bowties appear across the body. Headlights with matching hues and painted exhaust tips complete the alien aesthetic finish of the Camaro Krypton concept, details Auto Blog.
The fourth is the Camaro Hyper concept which is meant for those looking for a more stylish coupe. As its name implies, it is based on the Hyper Blue Camaro LT coupe and comes with a powerful 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine. It comes in Hyper Blue Metallic paint with white rally stripes, heritage-style fender badges, and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels. It also comes with a lowered suspension.
The four concepts from the Gen Six Camaro blend concept parts and production accessories. While all these are mere concepts, Chevrolet will actually offer elements of some of the concept vehicles in accessory packages for the 2016 Camaro early next year.
A powerful and fast car
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was developed under the GM Alpha platform, which was the same platform used by the Cadillac ATS, notes the Gospel Herald.
Compared to its predecessor variant, the 2016 Camaro will be a bit smaller, a little faster, and a whole lot nimbler.
In fact, the 2016 Camaro is definitely up to become one of the most powerful and fastest cars to be unveiled this year.
When GM released the official performance figures for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, questions started arising from the minds of every muscle car enthusiast whether it is equal if not better than the upcoming 2016 Ford Mustang.
If there’s one advantage that the 2016 Camaro has over the 2016 Mustang, it is the fact that it will get to the motoring retail markets early, giving it the headstart over the iconic muscle car from Ford.
It will take a few more months before the real head-to-head showdown between the 2016 Camaro and the 2016 Mustang will occur. But as the Camaro is set to come out this month at a price tag of $26,695 for turbo and $37,295 for the SS, Ford must hurry up to get its Mustang ready in order to beat what Chevrolet has to offer.
Every Camaro model offers exceptional chassis strength and rigidity, but the modular design made the architecture more adaptable and mass-efficient.
The base model of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro comes with the standard 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with 275 HP and 295 lb-ft torque while the mid-level V6 engine variant will come with 335 horsepower of maximum power and 284 pound-feet of maximum torque.
