The movie version of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “World of Warcraft” is set to hit theaters later this year and game developer Blizzard Entertainment is enthusiastic that the film would help boost the subscription numbers of “WoW.”
In order to heighten the excitement both to the upcoming movie and the game, Blizzard Entertainment is actually looking at giving away “World of Warcraft” expansions with “Warcraft” movie edition, reports Gamespot.
Blizzard has just sent out a survey asking people if they would be interested in a “World of Warcraft Ultimate Movie Edition,” a version of the game that comes with all of the game’s expansions.
Apparently, Blizzard will give gamers all previously released “WoW” expansions, as well as one month of game time and an exclusive in-game item, when they buy a ticket to see the film.
While the survey itself does not say the base game is included, but it is possible that it is already given. As of this time, it is just an idea that Blizzard is seriously contemplating. The contents could change between now and when the film finally hits the theaters.
Drawing new players to the game
Brian Holinka, the game designer of Blizzard Entertainment, confirmed that it is possible that the film’s release may draw new players to “World of Warcraft.”
He explained that the movie would be more of a broadening exposure of the universe to everyone.
He added that their focus is still in the game because whether the movie is there or not, the expansion, the quality of the gameplay experience, and the content are the factors that shall help people stick around and play the game.
But he did admit that the movie will certainly get a lot of people excited about the game. He said that it would probably turn a lot of people to the game’s upcoming expansion pack too and that will be a good thing for the game and Blizzard.
Upcoming expansion pack
The upcoming expansion pack of “World of Warcraft” titled “Legion” is set to be unveiled in the third quarter of this year and gamers are already very excited about it.
The expansion pack was officially announced by game developer Blizzard Entertainment during the BlizzCon 2015 event held in Los Angeles, California in November last year.
In addition to the previously reported features of “Legion,” a new screenshot of the upcoming expansion pack also revealed a new feature in the game. The screenshot came from a video that was posted on YouTube recently but has since been deleted by Blizzard most likely.
Accordingly, “Legion” shall also come with a separate wardrobe tab which would enable gamers to change the aesthetics of their gears.
Blizzard is now taking pre-orders for the upcoming expansion pack “Legion” and offered gamers several options. Users can choose a digital copy of the game, which is the standard version.
Or they can also opt for the deluxe version, where a game is included plus other bonus items. The developer, in a recent statement, said that they have added something new to the collection of goodies that they can get when they purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition of “World of Warcraft: Legion”
There is also an Illidari Feldstalker Mount and Nibbles pet that is included should players choose the digital deluxe edition. Other bonus items include a Felstalker Mount for “Heroes of the Storm,” Wings of the Betrayer for “Diablo 3,” new Fel Protoss portraits for “StarCraft 2” and again, a helmet transmog.

I remember the South Park episode, I started playing WOW after that. I got acne like Cartman, but I was level 90 in a few days, using Duggi Warfounder tricks.
