‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ May Come Out in 2017 with a ‘Skyrim 2’ Title Instead of ‘Argonia,’ Latest Reports Say!

Now that the role-playing game “Fallout 4” is already in the video game retail market, reports have it that developer Bethesda Studios can now focus on its next major role-playing game “The Elder Scrolls 6.”

The rumors appear to have a good leg to stand on since game publisher Bethesda Softworks did say during the Entertainment Electronic Expo (E3) 2015 that it did not make any announcement about “The Elder Scrolls 6” because it will do so in the upcoming E3 2016 to be held in June next year.

However, latest reports seem to indicate that it is unlikely that the game developer and publisher would make an official announcement about the latest iteration to the “The Elder Scrolls” franchise next year since their focus shall still be on the upcoming DLCs of “Fallout 4” and updates to the online multiplayer game “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited,” notes Neurogadget.

While previous rumors suggest that the official title of the next “The Elder Scrolls” game shall be “The Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia,” latest speculations now hint of the possibility that it shall be called “The Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2,” which would make it a direct sequel to “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.”

However, there are also speculations that “The Elder Scrolls 6” shall be based on either “The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind” or “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.”

According to latest reports, there is a chance that “The Elder Scrolls 6” might finally be released in 2017, although skeptics say that there is a high chance that it could also be delayed by one or two more years.

But all these reports about the possible official title of “The Elder Scrolls 6” and its release date remain as speculation at this time and shall only be confirmed once Bethesda Studios or Bethesda Softworks come out with an official announcement or statement anytime soon or in the near future.

Keeping the developer busy

One other thing that is keeping Bethesda Studios busy to be able to focus and work on “The Elder Scrolls 6” is its eagerness to make “Fallout 4” a huge success, notes the Latin Post.

Reports have it that the game developer is looking at releasing quarterly DLCs for “Fallout 4” next year which means that the development of “The Elder Scrolls 6” has to take a backseat anew in 2016.

It is no wonder that reports came out that the earliest that the game could come out is in 2017, with a 2018 or 2019 release date being the safe options.

Some gamers and critics, however, believe that Bethesda Studios can actually focus on the development of “The Elder Scrolls 6” if it really wants to since it has different development teams for every game.

Wearing gamers’ patience

There have been reports last month that Bethesda Studios would not be able to come up with “The Elder Scrolls 6” next year because it just developed the multiplayer online version of the game “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” this year.

It has been the pattern of Bethesda Studios to develop a game in “The Elder Scrolls” franchise once every four years.

“The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” came out in 2011. “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” came out this year, which means that the next iteration to the franchise will come out by 2019, a report which seems to be wearing the patience of gamers.

elder scrolls 6

Technically, “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” is not part of the series as it is basically an online multiplayer version of the game so its development is not as extensive as a full iteration of the franchise, like “The Elder Scrolls 6.”

But everything about the game actually depends on the pronouncement of Bethesda Studios which may do so next year. Amid rumors about the push back on the release date of “The Elder Scrolls 6” or the other speculations saying that the game would no longer come out, everything is up in the air and only the game developer or game publisher can either confirm or deny those.

  1. “Wearing the patience of Gamers” LOL

The same people whose patience is wearing thin are the ones complaining that games come out incomplete and full of bugs. Bethesda has earned the right to take as long as they need to give us the AWESOME games we love.

    Patiently waiting,
    Jeff

  2. It is definitely wearing my patience thin. There are not many game series I care about but The Elder Scrolls is one of them. I really wish it was out…last year.

  3. I hope it comes out soon, but I’m willing to wait. As long as I never hear the phrase “Skyrim 2” again, that’s just moronic -_-
