Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) Likely to Come Out After the Release of the Galaxy S7!

The midrange smartphones Samsung Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 were released by the Korean tech giant in June of last year. While it is customary for handset makers to allow their smartphones to complete a one-year market cycle before releasing a successor, some actually do it after six months. It appears that Samsung would do the same with its Galaxy J series handsets.

The Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5 have just turned seven months at the start of the year and reports already came out that the 2016 editions of the midrange smartphones are about to come out soon.

With the onset of February however, it seems unlikely for Samsung to roll out the 2016 editions of the Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5 to the markets this month or at least in the next two months.

Samsung is scheduled to launch its latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 to be held in Barcelona, Spain on February 22 to 25 so the company is unlikely to risk drawing any attention away from its flagship lineup by launching the Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5, notes the GSM Arena.

The Korean tech giant will be indeed be launching the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge later this month but the smartphones would most likely to make it to the retail markets one or two months later.

Thus, the 2016 edition of the Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5 could actually be officially unveiled beginning in May or June. If it reaches June, then the original Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5 have already completed its one-year market cycle by then before its successors come out to the market.

Two different chipsets

Reports have it that the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) will have two versions because it will make use of two different processors.

The first one will be powered by an Exynos 7870 chipset and the other one will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor under the hood.

The two versions will have different screen resolutions and RAM sizes but both will have a 5.5-inch screen display.

The one powered by an Exynos 7870 chipset shall have a 720-pixel screen resolution and 2GB of RAM while the one with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor shall have 1080-pixel resolution with 3GB of RAM.

It is also expected that the Galaxy J7 (2016), along with the Galaxy J5 (2016) will come out with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow already onboard.

The Galaxy J7 (2016) shall also come out with an expected retail price of anywhere from $200 to $280, notes Android Pit.

The smartphone shall have a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. And that the battery capacity of the Galaxy J7 could be in the region of 4.300 mAH, although critics believe that it is an outrageous prospect because the battery would be very large if that is to be the case.

Refreshing the J series

The 2016 version of the Samsung Galaxy J1 has quietly gone on sale in Dubai before the latest versions of the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 was launched during the recent GFXBench event.

The even better news for consumers is that the 2016 edition of Galaxy J7 is actually cheaper than its 2015 variant.

Reports have it that Samsung decided to launch a refreshed version of its J series in anticipation of the strong competition posed by Chinese smartphone manufacturers.
