Ronda Rousey’s Training Camp Visit Affirms Her Support to Pacquiao

Ronda Rousey has been a huge fan of Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquaio.

Last month, when she was asked during a TV interview how she sees the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Rousey said that it shall all boil down to who has the better ring strategy and that it would not just be a matter of who throws more punches but who connects with quality punches.

On April 13, the UFC women’s bantamweight champion finally came out in the open to show her support to the eight division world champion by visiting him at his training camp in Los Angeles, California to see how Pacquiao is doing in as far as his preparations for his upcoming mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. is concerned.

Top Rank, who is promoting Pacquiao, spared no time in posting the historic Rousey visit, on its Twitter account by sharing an image of the Filipino boxing superstar with the best woman MMA fighter in the UFC today. It even captioned the image by saying that UFC superstar Ronda Rousey is backing the best, who is Pacquiao.

Ronda Rousey’s visit to Pacquiao is not in any way her attempt to return the favor to Top Rank boss Bob Arum, who promised her a ringside ticket on the mega-fight scheduled at May 2 at the MGM Grand.

The MMA fighter par excellence obviously came on her own just to see how her preferred fighter for the world’s richest boxing bout is doing in practice.

Grateful for the visit

Like Top Rank, Manny Pacquiao also expressed her gratefulness for the visit and show of support from Ronda Rousey.

The Pacman also posted on his Twitter account and expressed her gratitude to Ronda Rousey for the visit and for her support.

Pacquiao is also a supporter of Rousey. During his war of words with Floyd Mayweather Jr. sometime last year, Pacquiao even said that Rousey would beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. if they fight in an MMA match, notes the Philippine Star.

Best woman martial artist

There is no doubt that Rousey is the best woman mixed martial artist in the world today. She is not just popular in the sport, her star is also rising in Hollywood with recent blockbuster films like “The Expendables 3” and “Fast & Furious 7,” which is currently showing this month and well on its way to making it to the Billion Dollar Club sooner than later.

The 28-year-old Ronda Rousey has fought in 11 matches in the UFC and she has remained unbeaten since, with most of her victories coming by submission through her signature armlock.
