Season 5 of the American Western crime drama TV series “Longmire” on Netflix is now in production at New Mexico and reports have it that the filming will take some time longer because it will have more episodes compared to the first four seasons.
Actor Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays Henry Standing Bear, in “Longmire” revealed recently that his character in the TV series will be spending more time with Mathias, played by Zahn MaClarnon, as they collaborate on certain cases.
Henry tried to do so in Season 4 through the secretive route as Hector but it did not work out so fans are hoping that the two get to share more working time together in the upcoming Season 5, notes Cartermatt.
Another star of the TV series Katee Sackhoff, who plays deputy Vic Moriarty, also confirmed through her Twitter account recently that filming for Season 5 of “Longmire” is now halfway through.
Netflix has yet to confirm the release date of Season 5 of “Longmire” but there is a good chance that it will likely air in the second half of the year.
Irish crime family members in the show
Meanwhile, there are reports coming out saying that Season 5 of “Longmire” will be casting some Irish crime family members whom Walt Longmire, played by Robert Taylor, will take an interest in with regards to a drugs-related murder, cites the Christian Today.
There are also hints that the sheriff will end up being romantically involved with his deputy despite the relationship with Doctor Donna Sue Monaghan, played by Ally Walker, which was previewed during the Season 4 finale episode.
Hunt Baldwin, executive producer of “Longmire,” said in a previous interview that Vic will be ready to take a different look at her love life after having finally accepted the end of her marriage.
Baldwin said that fans are aware that there is some interesting tension between Vic and Walt but it would not be a smooth sailing one as there will be new characters who shall be entering the scenario who might complicate the situation.
A big spoiler
So far, the biggest spoiler that has been hinted as of late came also from Katee Sackhoff when she posted on her Twitter account last month that she just read episode 4 of the fifth season of “Longmire” and fans would be excited about who is coming back.
Sackhoff did not specifically identify who the mysterious character might be but the speculations are rife that it is going to be a fan-favorite character because of the way the actress made the post.
According to rumors, the person may be someone who was thought to have been killed or died in the previous season of “Longmire” but turns out to have survived the incident one way or another. Based on those rumors, fans have been guessing that the comebacking character could either be Omar or Branch.
What is confirmed at this point is that the comebacking character would be returning on the fourth episode of the upcoming fifth season of “Longmire.”
In addition to the possible return of a fan-favorite character, a new casting addition has been confirmed for Season 5 of “Longmire.”
Actor Sterling Beaumon, best known for his films such as “Crawlspace,” “The Pretty One,” and “Senior Partner,” has agreed to a recurring role in “Longmire.”
He will be playing the part of a rather obnoxious student from a preparatory school and he will be seen rummaging through Dr. Monaghan’s stuff before being spotted by Walt and Vic. He shall reportedly play a significant role in Season 5 of “Longmire” as he will be claiming that he is the doctor’s son.
I think it’s a bad idea to have Walt and Vic as a couple. Something is wrong with that girl. Father issues maybe.
I like the show, but for a small town they have a lot of murders
