The second installment to the multiplayer zombie shooter video game “Left 4 Dead” was released way back in 2009. Seven years is already an eternity in game development so all eyes of fans and gamers are now on game developer Valve Corporation for “Left 4 Dead 3.”
While “Left 4 Dead 3” has been making the rounds of the rumor mills since 2014, Valve has not come out publicly to either confirm or deny the speculations about the development, possible plotlines, or release date of the game.
One thing has remained consistent among those tons of rumors is that “Left 4 Dead 3” will certainly come out ahead of the survival first-person shooter video game “Half-Life 3,” another popular and widely anticipated game from the stable of Valve Corporation.
Latest reports have it that Valve Corporation is now rushing the development of “Left 4 Dead 3” because it wants the game to come out in 2017. Eight years from its previous game is really a long time in between and it seems that Valve no longer wants to go beyond eight years and face more ridicule in the gaming community.
Critics also believe that Valve Corporation is actually under pressure to develop and come out with “Left 4 Dead 3” because it needs to prove that it can also come up with a great game in the absence of Turtle Rock Studios, its partner in the development of “Left 4 Dead” and “Left 4 Dead 2.”
No more Xbox 360 version
According to Segment Next, Valve Corporation shall no longer be developing a “Left 4 Dead 3” version for the Xbox 360 and thus will content itself with an edition for the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC when the game officially comes out next year. It is likely that the development company will also do away with the PlayStation 3 version of the game.
Amid the apprehensions of some gamers and critics on Valve Corporation’s capability to be able to come up with a great game now that Turtle Rock Studios is already out of the picture, an official for Turtle Rock Studios said that “Left 4 Dead 3” is now a Valve thing.
The Turtle Rock Studios official said that gamers would really like to see something new done to the video game series and Valve always does great stuff.
However, he also expressed interest in the development of “Left 4 Dead 3” when he said that it is cool to go back to the game but only as a fan and not as a developer.
New campaigns and characters
According to rumors, there will be six campaigns for “Left 4 Dead 3,” including Crash-land, Impasse, Inquisitor Land, Early Destination, Cliff-Hanger, and No Mercy.
The game shall also introduce four new survivors which are playable either by single or multiplayer mode. The characters will be three men and a woman. The three men include a gangster named Irvin, a comic book nerd named Keenan, and a famous Kenpo fighter known as Garrett Jr. The lone female in the group is Katherine, details Screen Rant.
The supposed development of “Left 4 Dead 3” has been in the rumor mills for quite some time already that most gamers and critics are almost certain that game developer Valve Corporation has been working on it already.
“Left 4 Dead 3” is one of two video games that have been drawing much excitement, enthusiasm, and anticipation from Valve Corporation, with the other being “Half-Life 3.”
What seems clear at this point is that because of the current thrust of Valve for multiplayer games, “Left 4 Dead 3” gets priority in development over “Half-Life 3.”
Other than rumors, reports, or hints that “Left 4 Dead 3” is currently in development already, the fact that “Left 4 Dead 2” is now enjoying an aggregate 10/10 rating on Valve Corporation’s online gaming platform called Steam, means that gamers are quite sure that something is up with the upcoming game.
