So as you must be aware already, the Chinese phenomenal smartphone giant Xiaomi, has decided to launch the much, much, much (and if there is anymore much after much) awaited Xiaomi Mi5 on the 15th of January. That’s right folks – just another seven days to go before the smartphone swing blade tips on the opposite end.
This announcement was made via the official fan forum by the company itself, so no rumors and no grapevines here folks. This is going to happen! As it has been a trend for quite a while now, we will again be witnessing the announcement of the Xiaomi Mi5 at the National Conference Center, Beijing on the 15th of January.
Going by the looks of the latest poster – it is very difficult to judge whether the device will be a tablet or a smartphone as only a shadowy impression of the device is visible. With the amount of excitement in the market about this flagship, we can proudly say that China will once again take the global market by storm with the Xiaomi Mi5.
One more thing that is very clear from the poster itself is that the phone will be extremely thin (even thinner than the wings of a cicada (an insect that is found and also feasted upon in China.)
Lei Jun, the president of Xiaomi did not fail to show his exhilaration either by saying that there would be no better way to kick start 2015 than with one of the newest additions to the smartphone society.
If you are wondering about the event, then here is some information for you – The event will start at 2 P.M, China local time, at the venue mentioned above and tickets for the same will be available via Xiaomi’s Mall App from the 12th of January. The estimated price of the tickets will be 99 Yuan.
The Internet grapevine suggests that the flagship will sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) Display and will be augmented with the latest 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor and an Adreno 430 GPU (as powerful as it can get). The GPU alone is enough prize for all the wolves scurrying around to get their hands on the phone first thing after its release.
As if that was not enough, the phone is also reported to feature 3GB Ram with a 20.7 MP back camera and 16GB internal Memory. The 20.7 MP camera will boast of Sony’s Exmor RS Sensor. What else would you look for in a smartphone? This gadget will take multitasking high-end applications on a palmtop to the whole new level.
