The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera that sports an LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. The rear camera can capture 1080-pixel videos at 30 fps while the front snapper can support a 720-pixel video capture.

While the Redmi Note 2 is available in China since August, it is expected to hit the Indian markets anytime this month of October being the latest. It is not clear if Xiaomi is planning to rollout the device in other countries too and make it compete head-on with the Asus ZenFone 2.

With fairly identical technical specifications and capabilities, it would be an interesting competition but given the price of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, which is almost $100 cheaper than the Asus ZenFone 2, currently priced at $219, the Chinese smartphone maker certainly would enjoy a distinct advantage considering that both smartphones are targeting the budget-conscious buyers.
