Singer’s return for a potential “X-Men: Apocalypse” sequel remains unclear as he just signed up to take the director’s seat on the remake of “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.” However, he has not closed his doors in returning to the X-Men universe.
What remains crystal clear however is that the first trailer for the upcoming X-Men film will be making its way next month attached to another highly-anticipated movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Speaking to Collider, producer Simon Kinberg confirmed that the first trailer will be shown on the JJ Abrams film. A short teaser has already been shown at the San Diego ComicCon 2015 in July this year.
Interestingly, Oscar Isaac, who plays the latest X-Men villain, will be seen in the newest “Stars Wars” movie as Poe Dameron, a resistance pilot.
A new trailer for the Chris Evans-starrer “Captain America: Civil War” is also set to be shown during the screening of the seventh installment of the “Stars Wars” franchise.
In other news, Fox’s X-Men universe is expanding with the studios’ deal to produce several television spinoffs with Marvel. For Fox’s movies, “Deadpool” has been added to the 2016 timeline while the third installment of “Wolverine” will make its way by 2017.
