Director Bryan Singer refers to the “X-Men: Apocalypse” as the true birth of the X-Men because it introduces new and younger version of many key and original characters including the likes of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, among others.
While it have been previously reported that “X-Men: Apocalypse” will be the last of the “X-Men” movies, it seems that it would not turn out that way as the studio is now working on a new movie for the future called “The New Mutants.”
That is in addition to confirmed films featuring X-Men characters including “Deadpool” hitting cinemas on February 12, 2016, “Gambit” showing on October 7, 2016, “Wolverine 3” showing on March 3, 2017, and “The New Mutants” showing on July 13, 2018.
The four horsemen of the Apocalypse in the bible’s book of Revelations symbolize conquest, war, famine, and death, considered as the harbingers of the last judgment, or end of the world to some.
However, in the Marvel universe of the X-Men, Apocalypse is a villain mutant who will be going up against a band of good mutants. But the villainous mutant will not be taking everybody by his lonesome, as he shall reportedly have some cohorts with him to spread his evil ways.
