After officially making his surprise appearance with the WWE on Survivor Series 2014 on November 23, 2014, the avenger Sting showed up once again in Monday Night Raw on January 19 to help John Cena get the victory over Seth Rollins, Kane, and the Big Show.
WWE fans were screaming with delight as Sting first appeared on the titantron before making his way from the back stage and onto the ring.
He just pointed at the Authority, Triple H in particular, as John Cena took advantage of the distraction by rolling up Seth Rollins and pinning him down, giving him the victory, details the Inquisitr.
While many fans were quite surprise with the appearance of Sting, there were already rumors that he would show up again after his brief but memorable stint in the Survivor Series 2014 where he also helped Team Cena win over Team Authority headed by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
An important match for John Cena
Had Sting did not arrive timely to save John Cena, he would have lost the match. And if that happened, he would be forced to give up his spot in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins at the WWE Royal Rumble 2015 scheduled this coming Sunday, January 25.
It was a must-win match for Cena because the three men that the Authority fired – Erick Rowan, Dolph Ziggler, and Ryback – needed to be at the Royal Rumble. With Cena’s victory, they would be at the rumble.
But instead of a one-on-one match, Cena was thrown by the Authority into a vicious one-versus-three contest. And these are not just ordinary wrestlers, they are all big wrestlers, and the smallest of the three is Seth Rollins, with the other two being Kane and the Big Show.
There was an injustice being done in the ring by the Authority and Sting came in to correct the wrong by making his debut on Monday Night Raw.
Triple H has had enough of Sting
Triple H was so flabbergasted with Sting that he was quoted as saying that nobody should cross the boss, indicating that the avenging wrestler would most likely get a match in WrestleMania 31 to be held at the Levi’s Stadium on March 29, 2015 at Sta. Clara, California.
When Sting first appeared in the WWE during the Survivor Series 2014, rumors started flying around that he would most likely face The Undertaker on WrestleMania 31 in what was touted to be as a dream matchup.
But The Undertaker has not been around for quite some time already. That’s in addition to that fact that there is hardly a dearth of material or plot in the WWE universe to hype a match between Sting and the Dead Man. Now it is becoming clear that the Triple H and Sting conflict is starting to come to a boil. It will most likely set the stage for their matchup come the biggest wrestling stage of all in March.
