“World of Warcraft” is a very unique product in the gaming industry, and it’s proof that sometimes games can get really huge and stay that way for an unexpectedly long time. It’s been one of the most popular games in existence for about a decade now, and while its popularity has gone down a bit lately, it’s still going strong and plenty of people are following it actively.
Blizzard, the game’s developers, keep up the hype on their side by constantly introducing new features and releasing massive updates that improve the game on all sides, and it looks like their fans are about to get the biggest update in the game’s history to date quite soon. Fans have been waiting for news about the update for a while now, and Blizzard have finally decided to speak up and reveal what fans can expect to see in the new update and when they can expect that.
According to the company, this expansion has been in the works for a very long time, as the studio had already planned it around three years ago. “Legion”, the new expansion pack, has been on the table for all this time and Blizzard were just waiting for the right moment to introduce it. At the same time, they’ve been experimenting with some of the game’s features through their work on other expansions, and at one point they had to make the decision between working on “Warlords of Draenor” or “Legion”, and the choice was obvious for many of their developers.
The point was to expand on the story first and then let the new gameplay content arrive in the next expansion. And since they’ve had so long to develop that expansion, it’s safe to assume that it will introduce a lot to the base formula of the game and we can probably expect to see various interesting new features from “World of Warcraft: Legion”. Fans have of course been debating about the various additions that they’ll see in the gameplay, but we’re going to have to wait for the official release to know exactly how those changes are going to play out.
Blizzard have already been releasing some more minor updates that address various parts of the game’s gameplay, adding new options to various characters and giving players more ways to approach their character development as a whole. On the other hand, some fans seem confused over the recent version numbering of their patch releases, although Blizzard could have easily just forgotten about a minor patch version, or rolled it into the next one.
Currently, the expansion for “World of Warcraft” is one of the most widely anticipated games in the entire industry, and many people are waiting for Blizzard to give more information on it. The company is as cryptic as they normally are though, and we don’t expect them to speak up about the release of the expansion before they’re fully ready to bring it out on the market.
With so many changes coming to the gameplay, even some old-time players who have been away from the franchise for a while now are likely going to come back and check out the new additions. Blizzard know how to keep their fan base interested, and they have been handling that very successfully throughout the years, so we expect that the new “Legion” is going to have an even more impressive impact on their fans than anything they’ve released for that game before.
