The mythical sword is a weapon treasured years ago by the Amazonian tribe where Diana belongs, which could lead to mass destruction when used by mortals. The blade also lies in Themyscira’s arsenal for safe keeping.
Diana will use it to help out Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, who will also play as her love interest, and his ally to save the world.
Director Jenkins also added that Diana going against her mother is worth it as she used it for the greater good and rescue of mankind.
Jenkins told Entertainment Weekly that Diana will find the right moment to become Wonder Woman once she hears all the terrible things happening to mankind and that would make her realize the need for her.
Back in October, Jenkins says that “Wonder Woman” will inspire and remind fans of hopeful films like the 1978’s “Superman” which actually revolved partly around love and emotion.
Warner Bros first female solo film based on DC Comics has a brutal World War I backstory which will reveal Diana’s love for mankind by saving them against all odds.
Earlier this week, it was also revealed that Connie Nielsen who plays as Diana’s mother, will be joining the “Justice League” movie alongside Gal Gadot due to hit theaters in November this year.
“Wonder Woman” is initially slated to hit the big screen on June 2, 2017, but it was moved to a November showing.
