That’s actually something that seems to worry many people right now – that Martin might be tempted to rush the book to get it out on time at this point. The author has delayed his work a bit, and that’s typical of him, but even he might eventually reach a point where he finds it too difficult to delay any longer.
If that happens, fans worry that he might just get the book done as quickly as possible so he can bring it out on the market and put an end to the criticism towards him, but if that’s the case, it could spell disaster for the author and his popularity with his fans.
After all, Martin is known for occasionally procrastinating and taking his time, but also for his great quality and strict attitude towards his work.
If that changes and he releases a book with a subpar quality that feels like it was rushed, this could change the landscape of things around him significantly. Fans will no longer trust the work he produces and treat it with the same immediate interest, and this may even reflect on “Game of Thrones” as well, even though the two productions are still somewhat separate from each other.
Really? I have seen polls that say the opposite, at a rate of 3 to 1. As for attitude towards his work, I think this is self-evident… At this point he views his “work” as more of a hobby. Delays are one thing, but missing projections by years…
Not so much this but the fact is he is old and fat a worrying combo. To die without completion that would be a bi**h. Looking at his work rate (probably slowing due to age) this is a very possible scenario. The TV show will be created from notes and verbal tie ins he will get into – not completed from finished material now. I just hope he completes the books stuff the TV show.
