George RR Martin, the creator of Game of Thrones is said to have benefitted phenomenally from the success of the Game of Thrones franchise. His popularity and book sales have shot up 50% ever since the TV Series aired.

This naturally has peaked fans’ expectations about his other works, the most notable of which is Winds of Winter. However, due to the lack of official information regarding the release date and plot, a section of the fan base has resorted to spreading rumors about his latest creation. While some believe that the book will release by February 2015, another faction claims that the author plans on revealing the book by April.

Martin is currently busy with researching and editing Winds of Winter as he is bound by a contractual obligation to complete writing by June 2015. Hence, we are sure to get final confirmations about the upcoming book by June, in the worst case scenario.

Martin is hell bent on completing the pending work as soon as possible as he wants to work on the final manuscript of the series. According to unconfirmed reports, the book’s manuscript will consist of 1000 pages and that will take a considerable amount of time to complete.

Martin plans on revealing the reasons behind the delays of Winds of Winter in the manuscript and this is sure to attract the readers’ attention. According to the few spoilers that are doing the rounds, Winds of Winter witnesses the demise of a few important characters of the series.

Writing for Game of Thrones has not been an option for the author of late as he has been preoccupied with WoW all this while. The series finale will be called A Dream of Spring, which will be an important bridge between the two Winds of Winter books.

Based on the description revealed by Martin, fans believe that Tyrion Lannister faces the author’s brunt this time and ends up losing his life. Martin had revealed that he likes killing off characters that gain excessive popularity in the series, although, we have not quite understood the significance of such a move.
