Winds of Winter: Possible Connection between Bran and Arya’s God

With the release date not likely anytime soon, fans have taken it upon themselves to speculate about what is in store for the characters in George R.R Martin’s next book.

So far, fans have hit the wall whenever they tried to gain additional insight into what to expect from the sixth instalment of the series, A Song of Fire and Ice. George R.R Martin has openly revealed that even though he knows what is in store for the different characters – most importantly, he has determined the parentage of Jon Snow – he is unwilling to provide hints, let alone share the details.

However, he has consoled viewers by saying that timing is crucial, which makes us believe that the writer has grand plans for the future. We hope that it’s not too late! The latest speculation regarding Winds of Winter is that there is a strong connection between the different religions of Westeros. This is not news, as readers are aware of the numerous prominent gods in Westeros – the Lord of Light, the Many-Faced God, the faith of the Seven and the Drowned God.

Fans feel that there is a connection between two Gods. Bran has gone to see the Three-Eyed Crow, and Arya is learning the skills of assassination from the guild of the Faceless Man. Fans feel that the Stark children are being guided by a common God, which will be explored in the Winds of Winter.

The Three-Eyed Crow is a Greenseer, the last of his kind, and it is speculated that the God of the Faceless Man is the Many-Faced God, who is also said to be the last Greenseer. In that case the obvious question that arises is, are the two Gods similar? Fans will have to wait to see whether George R.R Martin throws light on the connection between Arya’s Many Faced God and Bran’s Greenseer in Winds of Winter.

The other fan-brewed speculation in the forums is the connection between the direwolves and the Stark children. Each child had a direwolf since childhood, and they shared a very strong bond with them. Ghost has saved Jon Snow from numerous incidents, and Arya’s direwolf Nymeria had come to her rescue when Joffrey Baratheon tried to hit her.

Winds of Winter

Winds of Winter might see Arya and Nymeria uniting. Nymeria has already been shown leading a pack of direwolves, and it is likely that Arya will gather a huge wolf pack with her help. There are speculations that the Stark children are on their way of gathering up an army so that they can come together and join forces to claim the Iron Throne. Jon Snow leads an army of Wildings while Sansa gets her army from the Vale, and Arya arrives with Nymeria and her pack.
