There are other possibilities for how Jon Snow could be brought back to life, and the lore of “Game of Thrones” is certainly rich enough that Martin can get quite creative with his approach to this problem. At the same time, the author has always been careful when it comes to developments with potential long-term implications, so we don’t know what to expect from him.
One thing is for sure though – both “Winds of Winter”, as well as the next season of “Game of Thrones” are going to be quite the amazing experience, and not just because of the situation with Jon Snow.
The plot has been getting very intense in general, and even though both the books and the show started off strongly in the first place, they have been pushing their stories to the limit lately.
Some have been critical of the style of writing that’s being used in the series (both the TV show as well as the books), and while this has been a common point of argument within the community, it’s quite clear that critics are generally very fond of the final result and that’s all that matters. There are countless fans attached to both works too, and it’s clear that Martin has managed to come up with a really good concept.
