On a more morbid note, some of the author’s fans are also worried about the future of his book series as a whole, mostly owing to his health and progressing age. Combined with his notoriously slow pace of work, it’s becoming very questionable whether Martin is going to be able to complete anything else after “Winds of Winter”.
In fact, the release of the next book itself is under question for some of his fans, and there are some worried voices in the community that regularly discuss this. It’s probably not reasonable to worry about the status of his current book, but we’re as worried as Martin’s fans about where things could go after that.
Let’s just wait and see what will happen with the release of “Winds of Winter” though. With so much unknown around the book, it’s become a mystery of its own, and many people seem to be enjoying following the situation just out of interest to see how things are going to develop in the end.
Hopefully we’re going to get some statement by Martin until the end of this year. If not, things might definitely start to look questionable for the possibility of seeing “Winds of Winter” in 2017. One thing is certain right now though, the next year is going to be quite the interesting one for fans of Martin’s work who’ve wanted to see the book for a long time.
