Samsung is being widely criticized by fans and experts alike for their S5 smartphone, which was expected to overthrow Apple’s iPhone 5 variants from the market. However, let’s be practical! Apple is in a league of its own.
Even though Android devices are getting more compact, compatible, quicker and efficient, they need to learn a lot from Apple’s 64-bit architecture. Apple has played the large screen card and the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have attracted major attention in China with over 20 million pre-orders within four days.
This surge in demand has led a large faction to believe that the Samsung Galaxy S6 could make its way into the market, sooner than anticipated. Rumors of Samsung planning to unveil their next smartphone have been doing rounds for quite a while, although, no one is quite sure when the actual reveal will take place.
Samsung needs to outperform the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with the Galaxy S6. Hence, the pressure is rising. The Mobile World Congress 2015 is a major upcoming event, and we expect the Samsung Galaxy S6 to be unveiled during March 2nd, at the event.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 packs in a 5.1-inch display, which makes us hope that the S6 will feature a 5.5-inch plus display. Initial reports revealed earlier that Samsung is presently working on an upgraded 4K display technology, although, it won’t be incorporated in the Galaxy S6 due to time constraints.
Samsung is likely to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808/810 processor to power the 64-bit architecture alongside an Adreno 430 graphics processor. While the Snapdragon 808 supports 2K resolution with the six-core layout, the 810 supports 4K.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is further expected to run on Android L, which is expected within the next few months. Samsung has finally broken free from the use of cheap plastic-like materials on their premium range smartphones with the Galaxy Alpha and Note 4 and a similar metallic body is expected on the Galaxy S6.
Samsung revealed that next-gen smartphones will feature a whole new architecture. Hence, it can be assumed that they plan on introducing metallic exterior on their new smartphones.
Experts further believe that the Galaxy S6 will sport a 20MP primary camera, along with an 8 – 16 MP secondary camera. The current crowd is selfie-centric. Hence, Samsung needs to tread the extra mile in order to impress them.
Dust and waterproofing measures are to be taken while UV sensor, fingerprint sensor and multidirectional microphones are part of the standard kit. Samsung is expected to offer a 3,300 mAh battery ensuring that the smartphone doesn’t run out of juice at odd intervals.
