Fallout 4 is one of the most-awaited games of the year. Despite unofficial speculations regarding the game’s release doing rounds on the internet, official confirmations are yet to be announced. However, a recent tweet from Kotaku’s News Editor Jason Schreier has hinted at the possibility of the game releasing sometime within early to mid-2015.
According to Jason, the fans will get to hear about Fallout 4 ‘within the next few months.’ Jason is known to be in touch with many of the industry’s honchos, which could mean that the game is likely to release sometime soon. The internet has gone berserk ever since this piece of information came to the limelight, and all eyes are on the production house at the moment.
The reputed news agencies get to hear of the leaks, before the smaller groups get the information, and this could be a similar case. The employees of such firms are legally bound by contract, which prevents them from leaking out important information to the public. Hence, Jason coming clean about the possible release of Fallout 4 within the next few months is rather surprising!
However, the recent rumors are entirely contractive of the initial reports that Bethesda Softworks will not be developing Fallout 4. According to an initial report, Bethesda is busy working on the Elder Scrolls lineup before venturing into the Fallout franchise. This being said the situation is currently based on speculations, and an official statement is needed before further statements can be made.
If Fallout 4 releases this year, it will be the first major release since Fallout: New Vegas, which released back in 2010. New Vegas was well-received by the fans and gamers alike and received a total score of 8.5 from IGN and 84 on Metacritic.
The plot of Fallout 4 is expected to be based on Boston, and as far as the initial speculations are concerned, the game is being developed under the codename ‘The Institute.’ The codename refers to Boston’s MIT Technology Laboratory, which is rumored to be playing an important role in the development of Fallout 4.
Bethesda’s Todd Howard had stated earlier that rumors regarding the game are likely to surface around end 2014, and the predictions have been correct so far!
