White Collar Season 6 was a complete rollercoaster ride, with Neal infiltrating into the notorious gang of thieves called Pink Panthers. The season had seen him trying to prove his worth to the FBI while ensuring that the thieves trust him enough to let him into all their secrets.
This move is a big one for Neal because it ensures that he gets a clean chit from the FBI. The season had opened with Neal making a deal with the FBI to get them the boss, Alan Woodford. The finale, which is to open on 8th January, will see Woodford coming to meet Neal in the latter’s apartment.
Woodford suspects of the presence of a mole in his gang and assigns Neal the duty to find him out. Titled “Whack-A-Mole” the episode will explore Neal’s apprehension when Woodford talks about a mole in the gang and the subsequent relief on finding that he is not the one suspected.
The episode will also see Peter lose a colleague on duty. Peter fails to convince Luc, from Interpol to take Keller out of the operation. Luc is obsessed about bringing on the downfall of the Pink Panthers group even if it was at the expense of the innocent. Peter will have a tough time trying to convince Luc to create Keller to be the fall guy. Keller, on the other hand, is in the operation for his reason. Neal and Mozzie work with Keller in the final episode, knowing all throughout that they might be double-crossed.
Pink Panthers have decided to get a hold on the algorithm that would help them to get into the Federal Reserve. They want their hands on over $500 million. Peter warns the FBI of the plan, but it seems like the gang gets a clue about the FBI being hot on their trail and calls off the heist. When the gang decides to override the algorithm with the help of firearms, it is up to Neal to convince them otherwise.
Peter plays the con in order to make a heist successful for the Pink Panthers, helping Neal in the process. Neal and Peter have always worked in tandem and haven’t cared for risks when it comes to ensuring that the two are safe. With Neal in the enemy camp, with his life in risk, Peter does all he can to make sure he is safe and can earn the faith of the FBI.
Executive producer of White Collar, Jeff Eastin has said that the Season 6 finale will focus on several storylines and bring back a few of the old characters from across the different seasons.
