A lot is going to change in the third season of “Arrow”, and it seems like the producers are planning to shake things up quite a bit. The midseason finale left off on quite the dramatic note, showing the apparent death of the main character – but of course, as fans were suspecting, this was merely a temporary setback and not the actual end of their favorite hero. In fact, not only is he going to come back for the remaining episodes, but his relationship with Ra’s al Ghul might take an interesting turn.
The news is coming directly from the actor who plays Ra’s, and according to him, his character has a lot of respect for Oliver, and will actually try to warm things up between the two once Oliver returns. He went as far as to say that the two might even develop a mentor-like relationship and become total allies, and anyone who’s been watching the show closely recently would probably find that statement borderline ridiculous.
And yet, complex storylines like this often end up creating alliances from the most unusual combinations, so it’s not unlikely that something like this could happen indeed. It’s still a mystery how exactly Oliver could have survived the events of the midseason finale, although fans are of course speculating on the subject quite actively. The most prominent theories claim that Maseo will be making a return specifically to save Oliver’s life, after he has joined the League of Assassins. This hasn’t been confirmed by the producers so far, although there are some rumors that indicate that this could indeed be the way the show will unfold.
On the other hand, Oliver could also develop a romantic relationship with Felicity in the new episodes from the third season, something that has been teased more than once so far. According to Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer on the show, Felicity actually has a lot to say on the subject, especially after Oliver revealed his love for her, but her words might not be exactly what fans have been expecting. What this statement could possibly mean is a mystery right now, although judging by the fact that there have been indications of a romantic development between the two, it will probably be a strong moment.
The show is coming back with its new episodes in just a few days, and the excitement is obvious all over the Internet.
