What Will the HTC One M9 Bring to the Table, and When Is It Coming Out

A lot of phones were expected to be revealed at this year’s CES, but the show was rather uneventful in this regard. Among those was the HTC One M9, the successor to one of the most powerful phones on the Android market, and understandably, one of the most anticipated Android devices right now. While there was an announcement by HTC at the event, it was for the Desire 826, a lower-range phone than the One M9, which didn’t exactly impress the audience, at least those who were waiting for the One M9 announcement.

However, not all hope is lost yet – the most recent reports about the device indicate that it might hit the market before April is over, and it would be worth the wait. The phone’s codename is allegedly “Hima”, and if the rumors are true, HTC are preparing to reveal it around the end of March, sometime after the Mobile World Congress has finished.

Some were already prepared for disappointment at this year’s CES, as earlier reports stated that HTC are in fact not planning to make any announcement of the One M9 at the event, and are instead preparing the phone for another special event. The phone’s specifications vary from one rumor to another, but many are pointing towards a Full HD 1920×1080 display, and Snapdragon’s newest 810 processor beneath the surface.

In addition, the phone will have a 20.7 megapixel camera with excellent photo quality, and a large battery that’s been rumored to be between 2800 and 3000 mAh, more than enough to keep the powerful new hardware nicely charged for a long time.

Last but not least, it will also reportedly ship with the latest version of Android. While most rumors point towards version 5.0 as the one the phone will ship with, it’s likely that it will have immediate eligibility for more recent Android updates, bringing it up to the latest versions Google have released in the last weeks (and the ones coming in the pipeline until April).

HTC One M9

There’s been a noticeable trend towards more and more powerful hardware on the Android market, and it’s certainly a positive thing, as the demands of various apps have been growing exponentially. HTC’s own One M8 went down in history as one of the most powerful Android phones on the market, and many power users were happy to recommend the device for not only everyday use, but even more serious tasks related to development. If HTC decide to continue this trend with the M9 and make it an even more powerful device, it should easily become one of the most memorable Android phones of 2015, following the reputation of the M8 nicely.
