Cartoon HD is still in the news quite often, despite the major issues surrounding the app on the legal side. The team behind the popular application is apparently well determined to make sure that people don’t forget about their product – but unless they can come up with a way to legitimize their services, they aren’t going to get very far.
In the end though, the team doesn’t have a huge array of options at their disposal if they want to turn Cartoon HD into a more legitimate service. The only possibility would be for them to enter a deal with the various studios that hold the rights to the different shows featured in the app, but that’s something too complicated even for a large publisher, let alone a small app studio.
Another possibility would be to double down on the torrent aspect of the app, according to some experts. Torrent applications are in a peculiar legal situation, as they don’t actually link to any pirated content themselves, rather just providing a link to the protocol connection.
This hasn’t stopped some legal teams from coming after sites hosting torrent content before however, so it’s not entirely clear if this is going to actually help Cartoon HD in any way. The only surefire way would be to ensure that the content offered through the app is legitimate in the first place, and that would be a difficult task for the reasons described above.
If the app does manage to find a way to come to the market in a more legitimate form however, this could definitely change the landscape of the multimedia market as we know it. If the Cartoon HD developers manage to turn their app into a proper business model, this could have strong implications for the market as a whole.
They could, realistically, pave the way for even more services of this type if other developers see the app taking off and becoming successful. Plus, if it turns out to be a lucrative market niche, Cartoon HD would have the added benefit of being the first to enter it. This alone could bring them a lot of success in the future, as we’ve already seen before with other products in the tech market.
And if the developers of Cartoon HD don’t find a way around their legal troubles, certainly somebody else will – if such a way exists in the first place, of course. It’s only a matter of time before another app shows up and dominates the market with a different strategy, and we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing some fresh new ideas. If the next Cartoon HD is released with a legally sound marketing strategy, it could be a fantastic addition to the app environment.
