What Are the Latest Developments around Doctor Who Season 9? And More!

Peter Capaldi will take the role of the Doctor in “Doctor Who” for its ninth season, and we’ve been getting some interesting bits of information about the new season. So far, it’s starting to look like a lot of effort has been put into making this season a truly memorable one, and it just goes to show that the show’s huge fan base is entirely deserved.

We know of several monsters that will be showing up throughout season 9, including a monster that will show up in episodes “The Girl Who Died” and “The Woman Who Lived”, fifth and sixth in the season respectively. Both episodes are currently in filming, and while we’ve only seen pictures of the monsters involved so far and don’t know any actual details about them, they look terrifying and the new season is shaping up to be full of chilling moments.

A giant creature made of metal can be seen in one of the pictures taken on the show’s set, which was immediately discussed in detail by the show’s fans. We also got reports that Maisie Williams will be joining the show in a guest role. She’s previously known from “Game of Thrones”, where she played as Arya Stark, a role that gave her a lot of popularity.

Maisie Williams was quick to say that she’s excited to be working on the show when she arrived to the set for her first day, and she realizes that the production has a very important place in British culture. She was also excited to meet the cast and everyone else and start filming, something which was further attributed by the fact that the filming was taking place close to her own home town.

Michelle Gomez will be coming back in the role of Missy, in the meantime, who is the latest incarnation of The Master, an old-time enemy of the Doctor from the last season. We previously saw her getting vaporized, but of course we don’t expect something like this to stop the notorious character, and it’s clear that the Doctor will have a lot more to deal with on that front.

The first episode of the show will be titled “The Magician’s Apprentice”, and it will be written by Steven Moffat. We already know that Peter Capaldi will be the new Doctor, and of course this immediately drew a lot of discussion by the show’s fans. Every time a new Doctor is introduced, this inspires a lot of debate in the community about whether or not the choice is appropriate, but it’s probably safe to assume that the producers know what they’re doing – and for what it’s worth, most fans seem positive towards the new Doctor so far.
