‘Westworld’ Gets an Excellent Review from Known TV Critics; Show Has the Potential to Succeed ‘Game of Thrones’ on HBO

If any, the Season 1 ending appears to point that “Westworld” would indeed head that way. During the Season 1 finale, there was upheaval in Westworld. The androids were making a stand, particularly Maeve, who almost escaped from the compound in a move that seemed to have been dictated to her by someone, per what Bernard told her earlier.

Instead, she showed the first moment of true freedom and autonomy when she got off the exiting train and decided to go after the other android that had formerly played her daughter.

In an exit scene at the end of the episode, Armistice was shown to be ripping off her arm and fighting her way out of a bad place, so the fate of the characters helping Maeve may actually be more hopeful than it seemed during Season 1 episode 10.

Interestingly, “Westworld” was inspired in large part by popular video games like “Grand Theft Auto,” “Red Dead Redemption,” and “Bioshock: Infinite.” But the TV series is also inspired apparently by gummi bears based on the recent assessment of Lisa Joy when she said that “Westworld” focuses on the lives of the hosts rather than on the guests, notes The Mary Sue.

Lisa Joy said she always had a problem with over-identification with inanimate objects which is true for anthropomorphized things like humanoid robots and also for gummi bears, describing them as both cute and delicious.
