In any case, it still hasn’t been that long since season 2 ended, and it’s perfectly possible that we could see the show continued in the coming months.
If no announcement comes by the end of the year though, that would be a troubling indication. It would mark half a year without any concrete news about the show, and many fans would probably assume that it’s been shut down at that point.
But we’re only halfway through to there, so many fans are still hopeful for the future. Plus, even if we don’t actually get a third season of “Wayward Pines”, the show’s idea could be picked up by another production team and expanded in an exciting new direction.
That may not be exactly what some fans want to see though, as “Wayward Pines” already had some great ideas of its own, but it’s still a possibility for pulling the show out from the grave and allowing it to live on. As we said above, we will find out in a few months anyway, as the situation will soon start clearing up.
The last official piece of information we heard was actually encouraging, as the CEO of Fox Television Group claimed that the third season of the show is still a possibility, and even though that wasn’t an actual confirmation, it still gave some fans hope.
