Wayward Pines Season 3 Still Under Question, Did the Series Perform Well Enough for a Continuation? Let’s See!

Fans of “Wayward Pines” still have no clue about the producers’ plans for the future of the show, and it’s unclear if we’re even going to see the third season at all at this point. There were various claims about the show’s poor performance in the ratings department in the past, and at this point some fans seem to have given up hope on ever actually seeing any new episodes.

Other rumors claim that the new season is definitely happening, and that work is already underway to prepare for it. According to those rumors, the producers will make a small detour in the main focus of the show for this season, and will bring the spotlight on a slightly different set of issues than before.

The third season will still focus on issues related to humanity and survival, that’s not going to change, but the rumors claim that it will be a bit more about the choices we make and how they affect the future. Not only our future, but that of those around us as well.

Season 2 actually managed to revive interest in the show to some extent, and ratings picked up once the new episodes arrived. This also gave some people hope for the future, even though others claimed that the new changes were still not enough to pull the show out of its troubled situation.

Fans of the show have been getting more and more anxious about the situation with season 3, and we’re seeing an increasing number of posts online questioning what the producers have been up to, and whether they plan on continuing the show at all. On the other hand, some have been directing their inquiries towards Fox, the show’s network.

But there is no clear answer from any direction, so all we can realistically do right now is wait and hope that the season will arrive, and will turn out well. Although, knowing the nature of “Wayward Pines”, the definition of “well” can be quite flexible in the eyes of the producers.

For example, there are rumors that the new season is going to feature multiple deaths of main characters, and that the producers are going to focus on a different cast. This could align with the previous rumors about major shifts in the show’s focus coming up, but it could also imply that the producers are simply looking to wrap things up after season 3, and they want the show to go out with a bang.

We’ve also seen some interesting discussions with the showrunners themselves, and they seem determined to explore one main theme above all else – the looming sensation of impending doom. They’ve already shown quite a bit in this regard in the previous seasons, but it sounds like season 3 could really push that trend to an extreme, at least if it manages to arrive to the screen.

It does seem like the producers have some extremely interesting ideas that they want to develop throughout the series, so hopefully they’ll get a chance to tell their full story.

For example, the idea that humans are the only species capable of realizing their own extinction is a major point in the development of “Wayward Pines”, and we would definitely be curious to see how it can be pushed to the very end. If the producers really are planning a large number of main character deaths, this could mean that they want to actually show what complete extinction looks like through the eyes of their characters.
