For now, the show has been enjoying relatively strong reviews and overall popularity, but according to some of its fans it could be pushed even further.
It doesn’t immediately strike as the kind of show that’s suitable for a very large audience though, so it’s questionable how much farther it can be spread. Keeping it as a niche production definitely has its advantages, as the show’s fan base is quite dedicated.
There are rumors that the rest of the season is going to maintain this trend of writing the episodes in a darker, deeper style, but we have no idea just how far the producers are willing to go, given what we’ve seen until now.
With the way things have been going so far though, it’s entirely possible that fans of “Wayward Pines” are in for a big surprise once the finale hits the screen. How many characters are we going to have to say goodbye to, and how are they going to be replaced? There are a few weeks left to find out, and tensions have been growing stronger and stronger among fans.
