The rating decline is just not enough to cancel the show because critics believe that the producers and showrunners could still do some things to turn things around for the third season of “Wayward Pines.”
Despite the seeming assurance from the Fox Chairman and CEO, many fans of the TV series are still skeptical of the eventual decision of the network since up until this time, the renewal has yet to be announced. So everything about the show is still up in the air.
There are also rumors saying that Fox was not happy that the show paled in comparison to the upstart psychological thriller “Stranger Things” that made an awesome debut in Netflix a few months ago.
But these rumors are actually in stark contrast to the statement made by Dana Walden a couple of weeks ago saying that “Wayward Pines” Season 3 should continue until it reaches its satisfying conclusion.
Just recently Crouch said that the storyline for “Wayward Pines” Season 3 is now already set.
Crouch said that the upcoming season of the show would focus on the Abbies as well as the humans who survived the cryo-suspension. There are also speculations saying that many of the characters may die in “Wayward Pines” Season 3.
