‘Watch Dogs 2’ to Feature a Different Protagonist in Marcus Holloway Going on a Path of Vengeance!

Canadian game developer Ubisoft Montreal has announced during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in June at Los Angeles, California that the upcoming world action-adventure third-person shooter video game “Watch Dogs 2” shall officially roll out to the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC on November 15.

It shall come out two years after the release of its predecessor game “Watch Dogs” back in 2014.

More than the announcement of its release date, publisher Ubisoft also unveiled a brand new gameplay for “Watch Dogs 2” at the E3 2016, which gave gamers heightened excitement and anticipation for the game.

“Watch Dogs 2” shall have a different protagonist in Marcus Holloway whose path will be one of vengeance, reports WCCF Tech.

Early in his life, Marcus was framed by the ctOS for a crime he did not commit. He eventually turned to become a capable young hacker. Realizing that the system brings harm to the innocent citizens of San Francisco, he decides to work with DedSec to take down the city’s ctOS 2.0, and Blume Corporation, the creator of the ctOS system.

Marcus also has improved acrobatic skills and has the ability to roam around the city inconspicuously.

One major attribute of the game is that it shall allow players to progress by barely touching the story if they so choose, which can be adjusted in the side missions.

Set in fictional San Francisco

“Watch Dogs 2” is set within a fictionalized version of San Francisco where the player either navigates on foot or onboard a vehicle.

A player controls Marcus Holloway and he works with the DedSec to take down the city’s ctOS 2.0, an advanced surveillance system.

The San Francisco Bay area appears to be the perfect setting for the game as it is a great place to have long view distances with high detail atmospheric effects. The lighting and effects are also more realistic and the world is much more detailed and dynamic.

The game world of “Watch Dogs 2” is more than twice as big as the open world in its predecessor game, “Watch Dog.” Beyond mere size difference, the setting is varied, dynamic, and more flavorful. It also covers San Francisco, Oakland, part of Maine country, and a scaled down version of Silicon Valley.

Significantly better graphics

In a recent interview, Dominic Guay, senior producer of the “Watch Dogs” franchise says that the world of “Watch Dogs 2” is much bigger.

He explained that “Watch Dogs 2” uses an evolved version of the first opus technology. Through the many years in continued development by the Ubisoft Montreal’s Research and Development (R&D) department, they were able to improve the graphics of the sequel quite significantly, notes Tweak Town.

Ubisoft found itself in trouble lately over the downgraded graphics in “Watch Dogs” and it looks like the publisher has learned its lesson for its sequel which is due to come out in the next couple of months.

“Watch Dogs 2” also features stealth elements just like “Watch Dogs.” Players can use different methods to approach the game’s missions.

They can choose between the aggressive approach, in which they defeat enemies with firearms, or using Marcus’ own melee weapon, which is a billiard ball attached to a bungee cord also called as a thunderball, and the stealth approach, in which they can evade enemies or paralyze them temporarily with Marcus’ Taser.

The game features an upgraded hacking system. Marcus can modify the personal information of non-player characters to have them arrested, hack, and manipulate every car and mobile phone featured in the game, and disrupt traffic by hacking cars and traffic lights.

He also has a remote-controlled car, a quadcopter, and an RC jumper at his disposal. The game level system also returns, with items being divided into three categories: Stealth, Aggressor, and Trickster. Players can choose their upgrades in accordance with their own play styles. The game features several main story missions and side missions known as ‘operations.’
