Watch Dogs 2 Possibly Coming to All Platforms in July 2016, Plot Details Leaked!

It didn’t take long after the release of “Watch Dogs” for fans to start asking questions about a potential sequel. The game quickly became one of the hottest topics in gaming communities, although this was not entirely due to positive reactions. On one hand, gamers were certainly excited to play in the world of “Watch Dogs” and explore a fresh gameplay experience with beautiful graphics – yet on the other, the pre-release marketing campaign by Ubisoft ended up backfiring to some extent, as some were left disappointed with what the game actually offered compared to what was promised.

Ubisoft have been quiet about the potential sequel so far, and nothing is known officially about the new game. However, various rumors from the industry claim that the game is not only already underway, but it’s actually going to be an amazing, large-scale experience that offers everything which was missing from the first title, and more.

A recent rumor pointed at the potential release date for “Watch Dogs 2” – it seems that Ubisoft are aiming for July 2016 as their target. This seems plausible, given the average development cycle period of the company, and it would also give them some time to properly gauge the reactions of fans to the first game and figure out what the sequel should include (as well as remove).

The game is allegedly going to take place in multiple locations, from Tokyo, to Dubai and New York. Various European locations have been hinted as well.

Another class of rumors are discussing possible changes to the game’s protagonist. This was one of the main points of criticism for the original game, as the player character was deemed too difficult to relate to, due to being silent, dressing in a way that he blends in with the crowd, and generally not revealing much about his past. While this was intended to create an aura of mystery around the protagonist, the idea actually backfired and caused people to see the character as shallow and uninspired. Rumors have it that Ubisoft have completely thrown the idea of Aiden out of the window and are introducing someone new to play as. Will “Watch Dogs 2” feature a proper, charismatic hacker like the one fans were hoping to find in the first game?

Watchdogs 2

“Watch Dogs 2” has a lot of potential to redefine trends in gaming, as the basic premise of the first game was unique and managed to generate a lot of interest. The shortcomings of the original were mostly due to poor implementation, so if Ubisoft step up their game for the sequel, this could very well be one of the most noteworthy releases in a while.
