Watch Dogs is an open world action adventure third person shooter stealth game according to online descriptions and if you do not know what it is, you will know very soon. The game has been very popular since it was released back in November of 2014 for those that live in North America. The game was released worldwide for play on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and any Windows powered desktop. A little while later, the Nintendo Wii U version was released as well.
The game takes place in Chicago, even though it is a fictionalized version of the city that was all know and it follows a hacker and his adventure to get revenge for the death of his niece. That seems like a great situation that should bring you plenty of story lines and hours of play. You are playing from the third person perspective, much like other shooter games are and you have access to the open world of the city, the rural areas of the country and neighborhoods that lead you right to downtown Chicago.
The game was first announced back in June of 2012 and was highly anticipated since that announcement. When the game finally arrived, the reviews were positive overall with hits on the overall gameplay and some technical issues. Both of those criticisms are common for new games that have been developed in the last five years or so. The game was a success commercially with more than ten million copies sold worldwide leading up to the first of January 2015.
As you can imagine, a game this popular is likely to have a sequel follow it, but not usually is that sequel come right out of the gates. It has almost been two full years since it showed up in stores and online, but the fans have been waiting for Watch Dogs 2. There has not been any major announcement for the new game, but there are plenty of sources online that are stating the new game could be released this year. Online sources are all telling the same story.
That story is the fact that Ubisoft is reportedly skipping all of the major titles in favor of getting Watch Dogs 2 to the consumers as soon as possible. The report released online stated that Ubisoft will be putting the new Assassin’s Creed aside and putting more resources at the Watch Dogs 2 release. Because Assassin’s Creed has been moved to next year in terms of a release date, Watch Dogs 2 is expected to arrive this year. That would be great news for fans if it were confirmed. This does not mean there will not be an Assassin’s Creed add-on this year, it just will not be the Syndicate expansion.
