“The Walking Dead” is one of those shows that aren’t really afraid to kill off their characters and replace them with new ones, and in fact, a very recent episode saw the departure of yet another major character. After Beth died, there has been speculation that somebody new might join the cast as a replacement for her role, and those rumors have become even more prominent lately. Reports indicate that a replacement for the character might be scheduled to appear until the end of season 5.
In a recent interview on “Talking Dead”, Robert Kirkman revealed that there might be a new character coming who will be strongly gay – this was stated in response to recent rumors about another character of the show, Daryl Dixon. There has been strong speculation among fan communities that the character is gay, but Kirkman came out to deny those rumors. According to him though, a prominent gay character from the original comics is about to be introduced, but he didn’t give details on who the character is exactly.
Of course, the comics are there and available for reading, so anyone interested can easily go through them and check out the possibilities – and there aren’t that many. A little research reveals that the character in question is named Aaron and was featured in the comic’s issue #67. Speculation that this is indeed the new character has further been reinforced by the fact that Aaron lives in the Alexandria Safe Zone in the comics, and there have been rumors that this is precisely the location for the rest of the season.
If this is true, then the show will see the introduction of a recruiter for the safe zone, but it’s not known if the episodes featuring Aaron will follow his story as it was depicted in the comic books exactly. In addition, it hasn’t been confirmed that this is the character that Kirkman was talking about specifically, although there aren’t that many options to choose from.
Regardless, fans have been quite happy with how the producers of the show have been handling its fifth season, and it’s expected that the rest of the episodes will feature some even more interesting plot twists, setting the show up for further interesting developments. It’s not known if there will be any more deaths for the remainder of the season, although it wouldn’t be unlikely. Fans of the show certainly haven’t been shy about speculating on who could possibly be killed off next, and realistically, not many characters would be safe. In the end, this is the main reason why some people enjoy the show so much though.
