‘Vikings’ Season 4B Finally Confirmed to Air on November 30; Ragnar Rumored Anew to Meet His Demise Before the End of the Season

After a very long wait, the second half of Season 4 of the Canadian-Irish historical drama TV series “Vikings” on the History Channel has a confirmed airing date on November 30.

Episode 10 of Season 4 of the show aired on April 21, a few days before the start of Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” on HBO, which the former show is said to be evading for the reason of strategy in the rating game.

However, “Game of Thrones” Season 6 has already ended in June but the second half of “Vikings” has yet to see the light of day. There were even previous rumors saying that the second half of “Vikings” Season 4 could air early next year.

In addition to the confirmed airing date of episode 11 of “Vikings” Season 4, there are new rumors saying that King Ragnar Lothbrok, played by Travis Fimmel, will meet his demise before the season’s end as he will be facing an old nemesis.

Even before Season 4 of “Vikings” premiered in February this year, there have been reports claiming that Season 4 is where Ragnar will meet his end because the actor who is playing the character has decided to move to big screen acting.

At that time, Travis Fimmel was already busy promoting the movie “Warcraft” based on the multiplayer video game “World of Warcraft.” Unfortunately for him and the producers, the movie did not do well at the box office when it came out in theaters so it is possible that the actor is now having second thoughts about his career move.

Returning to Kattegat

It could be recalled that during the mid-season finale of “Vikings,” Ragnar wandered around after his defeat at the hands of his brother Rollo, played by Clive Standen, in Paris.

He shall reportedly be coming back to Kattegat in Season 4B but the entire place would no longer be familiar to him and his sons have already grown up by then, details the Ecumenical News.

However, Ragnar will spend some quality time with all his sons, especially the fearless Ivar the Boneless, to be played by Alex Hogh Andersen.

He would also realize that his sons are old enough to take over the responsibilities that were once his and his alone.

It is also rumored that Ragnar will settle an unfinished business with King Ecbert, played by Linus Roache, and that there will be a grand battle between the two characters that may lead to the demise of the Norse King.

Historically, it was King Aelle of Northumbria who killed King Ragnar after he threw the Norse hero into a pit of venomous snake, and not King Ecbert.

Challenging his sons

But before King Ragnar gets to bond with his sons upon his arrival, he will issue a challenge to each one of them to kill him particularly to those who want to take over as ruler and King of Kattegat, notes Game & Guide.

The challenge will be issued to his sons that include Ubbe, Hvitser, Sigurd, and Ivar the Boneless. His first son Bjorn Ironside, played by Alexander Ludwig, was also out somewhere to prove himself worthy to his father.

Based on latest reports, the second half of the fourth season of the TV series shall have a massive time jump from its Season 4 spring finale.

vikings

The History Channel also released several images of the Season 4B of “Vikings” and most of the viewers’ eyes were focused on Lagertha, played by Katheryn Winnick. Fans have keenly noted the glow about her as the Ealy of Hedeby stands in a field of grass and reports have it that her radiance has something to do with the woman standing behind her in the same image.

Showrunner Michael Hirst confirmed in a recent interview that Lagertha shall have a new romantic relationship in the second half of Season 4 of “Vikings.”
