History channel renewed “Vikings” for Season 4 on March 26 even before Season 3 drew to a close, IGN reported. Dick Hoogstra, executive vice president and general manager for History channel, said that the TV series has captured the hearts of both audiences and critics. He added that “Vikings” has established itself as one of the most compelling and visually stunning dramas on television.
“Vikings” is currently ranked at the top for cable, with an average of 4.3 million viewers, which is comprised of 2.2 million adults ages from 25 to 54 years old.
In other news, “Vikings” has been nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects at the Television Academy, according to its official Facebook page. Fans have also expressed excitement about the upcoming season and one fan even dubbed “Vikings” as the best show on television. Season 4 is slated to premiere in 2016.
