‘Vikings’ Season 4 Second Half May Still Not Feature the Death of King Ragnar Lothbrok!

Before the start of the fourth season of the Canadian-Irish historical drama TV series “Vikings” on the History Channel in February this year, the rumors were rife detailing that it would finally feature the death of King Ragnar Lothbrok, played by actor Travis Fimmel.

The reports back then said that Ragnar would meet his demise during the fourth season of “Vikings” because Fimmel wants to move up from acting on the small screen to acting on the big screen via the epic movie “Warcraft” based on the popular video game.

The first three seasons of “Vikings” only had 10 episodes apiece. It is only in the current fourth season where the TV series has gone beyond 10 episodes and went all the way to 20.

Season 4 of “Vikings” is now on its spring break after airing its first 10 episodes and shall be back with its 11th episode in July.

According to reports, the producers and showrunner of “Vikings” intentionally schedule the spring break of “Vikings” Season 4 so as not to coincide with the Season 6 of the HBO hit TV series “Game of Thrones.”

Done filming for second half

Latest reports have it that the production and cast members of “Vikings” have already completed filming for the remaining 10 episodes of the fourth season of the TV series.

Or it also possible that his character may finally meet his demise towards the end and confirm the rumors before the start of Season 4 that King Ragnar Lothbrok of Kattegat will meet his end so that actor Travis Fimmel would finally get his graceful exit from the show.

In a recent interview, Fimmel said that they have already completed filming 50 episodes of “Vikings” since Season 1. He explained that his character has undergone a lot of changes over the years from starting off as a farmer in Kattegat.

Ragnar’s sons grow up

Showrunner Michael Hirst revealed that the second half of “Vikings” Season 4 would feature a time jump in order to allow King Ragnar’s sons to grow up and be active young men, reports The Bitbag.

The series creator said that the second half of “Vikings” Season 4 shall feature King Ragnar at his lowest point because it is a big part of his story that basically features the rise and fall of the hero Norse leader.

Hirst also disclosed that the second half of “Vikings” Season 4 will see the evolution of actor Alex Hogh Andersen, who portrays the role of the crippled Ivar, one of Ragnar’s sons.

The showrunner praised Andersen for being a tremendous actor and is quite similar with Travis Fimmel, whom he describes as someone who has a very expressive face.

Hirst said that there will be some great scenes with Alex and Travis in the second half of the Season 4 of “Vikings.”

The series creator reportedly hinted of a possible spin-off series of “Vikings” that shall feature all the character that were already killed off in the original series. According to rumors, the spin-off TV series shall have the title of “Valhalla,” although these remain as speculations pending the confirmation from the producers of the History Channel.
