The 10th episode of Season 4 of “Vikings” that aired on April 21 focused on the ultimate showdown between brothers King Ragnar Lothbrok and Rollo Rognvaldsson, played by Clive Standen.
The duel was meant to be and had to be in the TV series since Rollo betrayed his brother, who is the King of the Vikings in Kattegat, Norway, not only once but twice. He also sold out his Vikings lineage when he sided with France and Emperor Charles of France in exchange for marrying the emperor’s daughter and a piece of land in Paris.
King Ragnar’s plan to travel has been tweaked just a bit because instead of conquering Paris, he has decided to take down his treacherous brother once and for all.
During their confrontation, King Ragnar told Rollo that when everyone wanted him dead, he kept him alive but he is no longer sticking out his neck for his deceitful brother.
Back in episode 9 of “Vikings,” Ragnar was overheard muttering that he likes to thrust his sword into the heart of Rollo.
Ragnar also told Rollo before their confrontation that one of them will die on that day. But Rollo was quick to respond that it will not be him.
