One of the most popular television shows on the History Channel this year was Vikings. The show will be coming up with a third season next year according to a report from the History Channel and other sources that confirmed the news. The new season is expected to start on the 19th of February and it will be at its normal start time, 10PM EST. The third season is reportedly going to have just 10 episodes and will follow Ragnar, as the king of Denmark.
If you have not seen the end of season 2, be aware that there are a ton of spoilers posted online. The second season ended with Ragnar taking the crown from King Horik, even though Horik felt that Ragnar was stealing power from him and that is why the plan was hatched to begin with. The third season is going to see plenty of the same characters, including Jennie Jacques, Bed Robson, Lothaire Bluteau and Kevin Durand just to name a few of them.
the character that is played by Jennie Jacques, Judith, eventually becomes the mother of Alfred the Great according to at least one online source. Ben Robson will play Kalf and is left in charge when Lagertha goes to raid with Ragnar. Kalf reportedly becomes a major player in the game and Lagertha might have underestimated him, as his character role is set to advance in future seasons. There are plenty of other actors and actresses coming back for the third season.
During one interview, the creator of the series Michael Hirst said that he knew that one of the “biggest features coming up in season 3 was going to be the attack on Paris”. That gives fans something to think about as the show is on break until after the Super Bowl in February. The series started back in March of 2013 and like many other 1-hour television series shows, it became very popular, quickly. Following Ragnar as he has raided England several times, fans are astonished how Vikings lived during that time period.
One source that posted recently online claims that Vikings Season 3, the group will be heading to 9th century France with 100 ships to battle. The creator of the show also hinted that the story line was not going to end anytime soon like others did. It will carry through the entire season 3 and possibly into season 4 with a huge impact on the main characters in the show. A show like Vikings is popular because it shows the modern age how things were back then and it draws you in with a soap opera like dramatic setting.
