Vikings Season 3 Coming February 2015, Fans Get to See Pictures from Behind the Scenes!

The third season of “Vikings” is nearly ready for airing, and it’s currently scheduled to begin in February 2015. So far, there has been quite a lot of information about what fans can expect from the show’s new episodes, and from everything that’s been shown so far, the new season is shaping up to be the bloodiest, most violent one so far.

Season will feature an attack on Paris, a scene which has been particularly hard to develop, and involves heavy amounts of CGI and special effects. The raid will be accomplished with a hundred ships, and will be presented through massive battle scenes, more violent than anything the show has presented until now.

This, according to people involved with the production, has been completely intentional, as the producers are actually trying hard to raise their own bar for violence on the show. While most fans have been happy about the news, as the bloody scenes were seen as one of the show’s main attraction factors, others have been more skeptical, claiming that there should be an upper limit to the violence in the series, and that the producers might overdo it at some point.

There are still a few weeks to go until the season starts airing, but fans can already get a glimpse at the special effects that will be featured on the show. A behind-the-scenes photo set has recently been released, focusing on the CGI used in the new season. In addition, fans can see actual stills from the new episodes themselves, although the scenes depicted are somewhat vague and don’t really reveal anything interesting about the new season’s plot. Which, of course, is most likely completely intentional.

It’s not just about special effects though – according to interviews with the production crew, members of the cast have actually had to undergo advanced training in order to improve their fighting skills, making the combat scenes more authentic and believable. This has apparently been a major point of focus in the production of the new season, and according to people who’ve seen the new episodes, the quality of the combat scenes has gone up noticeably.

It remains to be seen whether the third season of “Vikings” will live up to the expectations, and continue the trends set in the last two seasons. It’s a show with huge potential which is still being realized, and it appears the producers already know the right direction for its development. At this point, they just have to continue their work in the same style, and keep listening closely to fans’ feedback like they have in the production of the last seasons.
