A Valentine’s Day marriage proposal could have save the relationship of Nicole Scherzinger and Formula One racing champion Lewis Hamilton. But apparently, none was forthcoming.
This was disclosed by the former Pussycat Dolls singer in light of the former couple’s high-profile split early this month after a seven-year on-again, off-again relationship.
Nicole said that during the recent Holidays, she was pinning her hopes on Lewis making a proposal to her which never happened.
So she gave him time to prepare for another opportunity to propose to her for this Valentine’s Day but when she realized that he was not up to it and refuses to commit himself further to the relationship, the singer decided to put an end to the relationship, reports Yahoo! News.
Nicole got the information from a mutual friend who revealed to her that Lewis did not buy a ring and was not planning to pop the question to her on Valentine’s Day. She has had enough of the waiting game so she ended it finally.

Sources close to the singer said that she has given Lewis so many opportunities and ultimatums to propose to her but he did not budge at all. So when they parted ways in the first week of February, Nicole was even quoted to have said to Lewis that he would not be able to get her back this time around.
Long-distance relationship
Prior to their breakup, Nicole and Lewis had to content themselves with their long-distance relationship as Lewis is always in Monaco for his work as professional car driver while the singer shuttles between London and Los Angeles because of her own commitments as a celebrity.
While Nicole once offered to Lewis to relocate to Monaco, where the Formula One racecar driver spends most of his time when he is not racing, the absence of a proposal from him really did not sit well with Nicole.
An insider said that the long distance between the two had an effect on their relationship no doubt.
Nicole was very much willing to slow down her career for a family. Unfortunately, the 31-year-old Lewis was not ready to make the same level of commitment. The same insider said that the former Pussycat Dolls singer opened up that she even offered to relocate to Monaco had Lewis made the ultimate gesture of commitment.
Days after their high-profile split, Nicole said that she was devastated because she and Lewis still deeply love each other.
