‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ to Feature Real-Time Cutscenes and Level-Up Animation

In addition to the excellent graphics is the capacity of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” to run a single-player campaign using 1080p/30fps. The developers are targeting 60 fps for the multiplayer campaign. More next level animations may still be possible since Naughty Dog still has time to explore PS4’s capacity before Sony officially releases the video game next year.

Meanwhile, co-director Straley revealed that the character in the upcoming adventure video game can drive a jeep in wider areas while doing missions, but not in all locations. He said that they will adjust with the story’s pacing. Whether they have to go wide or narrow will greatly depend on the storyline. The same animation might not be possible in PS3, according to a previous interview of Games Radar with Druckmann. Now with PS4, the animation can show one road at the moment before eventually branching out and splitting.

It can be recalled that this is not the first time for the developers to laud the impressive capacity of PS4. In a previous discussion with director Druckmann, he explained that the game will give the players the freedom to explore more due to the superb hardware of Sony’s next generation gaming console. During the PlayStation Experience panel last December 2014, the developers explained the details of their rendering process and the technical aspects of making the character appear both in gameplay and cutscenes.

For sure, the developers are doing all they can to make “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” the best among the game’s previous installments since the PS4 game will be the final entry in the series to feature Nathan Drake, according to an interview with Game Spot last June. As announced last March, though the much-awaited PS4 game was originally set to be released this fall, Sony delayed the release to spring 2016 or around the first or second quarter of next year.
