The latest update to the open-world third-person shooter video game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” shall go live this week according to game developer Naughty Dog. It is to be officially called as the Survival Mode and it will reportedly improve the gameplay on the co-op and solo campaign, details the iTech Post.
As early as a few weeks ago, players have expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for the release of the Survival Mode.
Based on the latest reports, Naughty Dog will be running a livestream on December 13 to flaunt more Survival Mode content for “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” as well as to show the fresh multiplayer DLC, reports Game & Guide.
Accordingly, the upcoming mode shall allow players to play it through an online gameplay where it shall enable players and two of their allies to face a battalion of enemies.
Survival Mode shall also usher new bosses that would be difficult to defeat for the players. It shall also include new maps, weapons, skins, vanity items, boosters, and a new mode.
As soon as the update to “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” becomes available, a DLC can be downloaded already by the players.
A solo expansion of the DLC
There are also reports saying that Naughty Dog is already in the finishing touches of the solo expansion of the DLC for “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” as espoused by many gamers.
Based on rumors, Naughty Dog is looking at making Sam Drake, the brother of Nathan Drake, as the main character in the solo expansion.
The rumors started swirling when one insider from game publisher Sony supposedly disclose that the next expansion to “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” shall focus on Sam and Sully only. However, Nathan Drake shall still be part of the expansion, though not as the main focus the way he has been in the main game.
Since its release to the PlayStation 4 in May this year, gamers have already been waiting for the rumored solo expansion of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.” But there is still no official word coming from Naughty Dog about it at this time so everything is still up in the air.
Improving the game’s multiplayer mode only
Last month, Naughty Dog released Patch 1.17 on “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” but unlike the previous update, the patch brought improvements to the game’s multiplayer mode only.
On November 3, Naughty Dog also rolled out a special support patch for the PlayStation 4 Pro that has made the game look pretty on the latest variant of the PlayStation 4. It was called as Patch 1.15.
Patch 1.16 was released by Naughty Dog on November 9 that included changes in the multiplayer mode both for Ranked and Balance.
It also came with other fixes for improper drops, Audio Options Menu crash, the white flash when transitioning from Multiplayer to the Main Menu, and the HDR setting not defaulting automatically when switching outputs.
The improvements on the multiplayer mode brought forth by Patch 1.17 on “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” had already been posted on the game’s official website shortly after its release.
These included the fixing of the profile issue causing users to lose their Trials & Ranked TDM progression, fixing a Leaderboard issue where Classic Mode statistics counted to the regular TDM Leaderboards, fixing an issue with being able to hear player’s microphones before a Ranked TDM match, and fixing an issue where the HDR could cause certain menu screens to become unresponsive.
Incidentally, “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” just like many other PS4 exclusive games, has benefitted from the recent release of the PS4 Pro, whose features included its support for 4K TV, which made the game really look great.
Many gamers and critics actually consider it as a new lease of life on “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” which was officially released to the PlayStation 4 in May this year.
