‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ New 15-Minute Playthrough Trailer is Quite Impressive and Engrossing to Gamers

Game developer Naughty Dog released a seven-minute demo trailer of the open-world action adventure third-person shooter video game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 last month. Both critics and gamers were quite impressed with the video game’s level of intensity.

To further build on such gains, Sony Computer Entertainment followed it up by releasing a new 15-minute gameplay trailer a few days ago, that pretty much reaffirmed why the “Uncharted” series is the flagship video game of the PlayStation gaming console.

The Business Insider describes the playthrough trailer of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” as gorgeous because it practically showed why millions of PlayStation gamers have fell in love with the video game franchise.

According to the outlet’s analogy, the “Uncharted” video games series is to gaming as “Indiana Jones” is to film. That’s because game protagonist Nathan Drakes continuously explores his world the way archaeologist Dr. Indie Jones does it with ancient relics.

The main difference is that fans can only watch Dr. Jones do his stuff while they can actually get to experience Drake’s adventures first-hand via the “Uncharted” video game.

While both Naughty Dog and Sony has yet to come up with a statement or announcement regarding the specific release date of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” it is widely speculated that the game would be launch and released next year exclusively on the PlayStation 4.

Comic book version

If Naughty Dog will take gamers back to the world of Nathan Drake in the upcoming video game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” Dark Horse Comics will be taking avid fans and followers of the game behind the scenes on Nathan Drake’s world through a comic book.

The comic book titled “The Art of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” will feature never-before-seen preliminary design and concept arts from the video game. It will also come with commentaries from the development team at Naughty Dog.

Polygon reports that the oversize edition of the comic book will hit shelves in the spring of 2016, which is likely the same time as the release of the video game. “The Art of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” will be made available for pre-order very soon.

More ways to fight

Both the seven-minute demo trailer and 15-minute playthrough trailer of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” actually gave gamers better looks on the array of new ways that protagonist Nathan Drake fights, moves, and interacts with the environment around him. He is also using a new kit to do all kinds of stuff as he goes on exploring the environment.

The demo trailer featured during the E3 2015 showed Drake swinging from his grappling hook and rope into the side of the bridge. He did not let go of the rope which dragged him into one of the most exciting set-pieces in the “Uncharted” series so far.

The protagonist may have aged over time since “Uncharted” was first released years back, but it seems that Drake is now a little wiser too and has found new ways of getting into and out of trouble in the open-world game.

Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann says that they have intentionally evolved Drake’s repertoire of what he can do and also how those moves flow from one to another. He added that there’s all these mechanics that interact with one another so they’re trying to give the player a choice of strategies of how he approaches each setup.

The demo trailer also offered a glimpse of Nathan’s big brother Sam who also got into all sorts of trouble as well.

Game director Bruce Stanley explained that all the characters that they have created in the game have different facets of Drake’s personality. He explained that since Sam is part of Nathan’s past, he actually re-ignites the fire in Drake’s belly and gets him back into the adventure.
