‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ Minor Spoilers to be Unveiled at the PlayStation Experience, Confirms Game Creative Director!

The open-world action adventure third-person shooter video game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” will have a panel at the upcoming PlayStation Experience event to be held in San Francisco, California on December 5 to 6.

Neil Druckmann, creative director of game developer Naughty Dog, confirmed that he and several cast actors of the widely anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive video game will be holding court in the panel on December 5.

Through a tweet on November 25, Druckmann said that there will be spoilers in the event for “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” but he said that those will be not major spoilers. He also added that it is just his way of giving media blackout people a heads up, notes Dual Shockers.

Druckmann and the actors of the upcoming video game will be talking about the whole process of performance capture as well as present new cinematic clips and behind-the-scenes videos about the development of the game.

In addition to Neil Druckmann, actors Nolan North, who voices Drake, Richard McGonagle, who voices Sully, Troy Baker, who voices Drake’s brother Sam, and Laura Bailey will be around during the panel to be moderated by Greg Miller, details Gamespot.

Laura Bailey is also a voice actress in other games including “Halo 5: Guardians,” and “BioShock Infinite,” but her role in “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” has yet to be known. She may likely reveal it during the panel.

Issue on micro-transactions

The gamer excitement to the release next year of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” was somehow lessened when developer Naughty Dog announced that the game would also feature micro-transactions in its multiplayer mode.

Gamers know that micro-transactions usually mean that the developer will charge money for certain add-on features in the multiplayer mode of the game, which is the reason why some are planning to shun it.

There were even claims that game developers cut game contents just so they can make additional features and charge money for it at a later date.

Naughty Dog decided to keep silent from the issue fearing that any statement from the company would have an impact on the reception of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” when it exclusively rolls out to the PlayStation 4 next year.

However, a former employee of Naughty Dog involved in the development of the video game decided to come out to defend the micro-transaction feature of the multiplayer mode of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.”

Eric Monaceli, the former community strategist of Naughty Dog, said that the studio’s decision to use micro-transactions has nothing to do with the intention of charging gamers money. He says that if the content is good enough and gamers want to pay for it, then why not just pay for it.

Worth paying for

He also debunked claims that Naughty Dog and other developers cut contents from games just so they charge money for it at a later date.

Monaceli seems to know a lot about game development because apart from working for Naughty Dog, he also served with other gaming companies including Capcom and Atari. He is now working as part of the team of Infinity Ward, the producer of “Call of Duty” franchise.

He said that micro-transactions are worth paying for because of the work that the development team has put into in delivering additional content to the game.

The former Naughty Dog community strategist says that the more the development team has put their thoughts into coming out with a DLC, the more the development company should be able to charge for it.

He explained that micro-transactions, like DLC, are one of those things when the development creates another game unto itself. Monaceli said that it is work and people should pay for good work.

In addition to micro-transactions, Naughty Dog has also announced that it shall offer a single-player expansion for “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” that will also come with a price. But a Naughty Dog official said that they still have no idea what form of DLC that the planned expansion to the game will take when it comes out.
