UFC 207 Rhonda Rousey: Will Friday Be Her Last Fight or Is It Just Another Beginning? Let’s See

UFC is coming back to Vegas this week for UFC 207 at the T-Mobile Arena on Friday. This event will serve as the year-end bonanza for UFC featuring two title fights. The fights will be Amanda Nunes (13-4 MMA, 6-1 UFC) vs. Rhonda Rousey (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and Dominick Cruz (22-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) vs. Cody Garbrandt (10-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC).

The other fighters appear in the episodes shopping and setting up Christmas trees, but Rhonda Rousey is nowhere to be seen. Since her shattering loss to Holly Holm at the UFC 197, this will be her return to the ring in a way.

She was known to be in the limelight to the fullest in 2015. With her undefeatable ways, she was considered to be unstoppable. Rousey was main eventing shows across the world before she faced a terrible defeat. She excelled due to her Judo skills that she has even won an Olympic medal for. With a record of 12 victories, she has fought beyond round 1 only once.

This much-awaited return is giving rise to many speculations about her approach after a complete year from the fateful night. It is still a mystery as to how will Rousey come across in this comeback. The main questions that are being risen are if she will be technically sound and be able to endure Nunes’ heavy hands or not.

One of the most important questions being asked is what will happen after this fight. This is so because, despite the loss, Rousey has been the reason behind the biggest draws in MMA. This has proved to be very helpful in times when the UFC is seeking capital on a large scale.

Rhonda is considered to be an asset for the championship group and an indispensable source of income due to her personality. This has made her maintain suitors in Hollywood, Las Vegas and more. The speculations continue to rise due to Rhonda’s constant avoidance of the media.

Everyone is curious to know what her mental state towards all this is and considering her current approach; everyone speculates a win at the end of the fight night. Hollywood is still interested in the fighter as Rousey has hinted that whether she loses or wins, she is mostly going to be done with MMA.

Keeping the fact that prizefighting calls for more fame and money than acting in mind, Rhonda might still keep coming back to the championship. This is so because the offers from Hollywood have kept coming in due to a certain personality and image of Rhonda which without the MMA would hold no importance and effect.

Also, a win in this fight will call for tens of millions of dollars which will be a huge amount to say no to. Due to this, her exit from the UFC is highly unlikely according to many. In an interview, Steve stated that Rhonda was tired of the MMA way before these speculations started.

This is so because the estimated amount that Rousey could make with an acting career is much lesser than what she would make as a fighting champion. Many believe that if she loses this fight, she wouldn’t end her career but be back after another year probably. If she wins, her comeback would be sooner.

Patrick mentioned that if Rhonda wants to keep her stardom of being dangerous and strong maintained in the long haul and she wants to quit MMA, the WWE would be the best bet for her for the time being. This way she would be away from the tough training but under the limelight of her dangerous personality.
