What’s going on behind Ubisoft’s doors? The studio seems to have a lot on its plate right now, as the developers have been trying hard to earn back their fans’ trust after a somewhat botched line of releases that undermined the way people see them. While the company has been very active in putting out new titles lately, the quality of each of those titles seems to have suffered proportionally to how many projects Ubisoft are trying to tackle at once. And now, their latest release in the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise, “Assassin’s Creed: Victory” is supposedly going to rebuild the public interest in the series, something that was damaged a bit lately. When is the title coming out though?
That’s a question that gamers have been eager to find out the answer to for some time now, and while there has been no shortage of rumors about the game’s release date, there’s nothing official from Ubisoft themselves so far. Currently, the most prominent speculation puts the game’s announcement at this year’s E3, a theory that doesn’t sound too unlikely.
Many companies are expected to come out with major announcements and releases at this year’s E3, and the gaming community as a whole is paying a lot of attention to the upcoming expo. Not much has been confirmed officially so far, but sources from within the gaming press claim that it will be worth paying a visit to this year’s E3 for those who want to see a lot of exciting revelations.
BioWare are also rumored to be visiting the expo for a major announcement of their own – the studio has been expected to come out with news about “Mass Effect 4” for a long time now, and it’s rumored that E3 will finally be the big day for the franchise’s fans. There have been some notes of worrying among the community when the rumors started spreading, as the next “Mass Effect” will be a title with a lot at stake for the studio.
The third installment in the series was received less than warmly due to its ending, and the studio has been reportedly putting a lot of work into trying to guarantee that this mishap will not happen again. In the end, they did release a patch which fixed the main title itself, but by then, it was too late as the damage had already been done. When the studio ends up announcing “Mass Effect 4”, they should make absolutely sure that they have developed the game’s storyline in a sensible way, and aren’t about to repeat the fiasco that occurred with the previous title. But, if rumors from the company are to be trusted, they know what they’re doing this time.
