Terror Watch forms a crucial part of the US government’s state agenda, and Trump has always intended to bring about changes in it. Reports suggested that Trump wants to revamp the Country teeing Violent Extremism program.
Trump has come into the office and offended and agitated the whole world around him. He has already changed the immigration law and has tried to stop Muslim immigrants from seven Middle East countries.
InUth reported that the Trump government have yet to reveal their next move, but reports suggest that it has something to do with the white supremacists in the United States. Independent said that the Trump administration wants to erase white supremacists and neo-Nazis from the US counter extremist program.
The call is to focus primarily on Islamist terrorism. According to Reuters, Trump intends to rename the Countering Violent Extremism to Countering Radical Islamic Extremism. The initiative will go a long way in removing attacks and mass killings of blacks, which have so far been categorized as acts of terrorism by American authorities.
Violent extremists are also responsible for many homegrown violent outbreaks in the United States. These organizations are as dangerous as terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS. Trump has been very vocal about the fact that Barack Obama had been very lenient with the ISIS. It is this notion of the President that forced him to pass the executive order to ban refugee programs and immigration.
The Countering Violent Extremism focused on preventing by creating community groups and educational programs that countered terrorist ideologies. Life After Hate is one of the primary groups that the CVE works with. This group aims at rehabilitating white supremacists and right-wing extremists.
NY Mag reported that CVE should break ties with such groups and focus only on countering Islamic extremists. This executive order would solely focus on using federal funds to counter Islamic radicalism. Reuters reported that Trump’s hostility towards Islam might prevent the government from receiving their cooperation.
Hoda Howa, the director of policy for the Muslim Public Affairs Council, said the Trump administration concerns them because it targets a particular religious group and places it under suspicion. Trump has always been talking about fighting terrorism, and he took his first step in that path by banning immigrants from the seven Islamic countries.
President Trump said that the decision to ban the Muslims would keep the bad guys from the country. According to reports none of the countries present in the list are enlisted as the ones engaged in terror attacks. Further, the ban would only intensify the propaganda of the ISIS and other terrorist organizations.
The shooting in Quebec has captured the attention of the world, and White House press secretary Sean Spicer said that the attack makes it clear why Trump’s executive order against the immigrants is essential. However, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made it very clear that the shooter was a Canadian, making it clear that religion wasn’t the focus here.
Trudeau condemned the order and extended his assistance to the family of the victims. Donald Trump released no formal statement on the subject. He has previously made comments on even minor issues involving Muslims in foreign countries.
The President of the United States doesn’t have the authority to attack the judiciary since it has the power to check the authority of the executive branch and the Congress. However, the world has realized that Donald Trump isn’t one to shy away from controversy.
