True Detective is one of the hottest new shows on TV right now and with season 2 coming up very soon, many were wondering who was going to come back and who might be cast as a new character. All of that was answered throughout this month and that includes the hot news that Abigail Spencer is going to be added to the mix in the second season of True Detective. The rumor sites have started to heat up over the last few weeks, but for now, HBO has not confirmed or denied any of them.
The HBO drama already includes actors like Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch, so it was about time that actresses started to line up to get a part on the very popular crime drama on HBO. Other notable names that have signed on include Kelly Reilly and Leven Rambin to go along with Abigail Spencer. Reilly will be playing the role of Morgan, while Spencer is playing the role of a sex attack survivor and Rambin playing a role as someone with a drug problem.
Just about all of the roles have been finalized with stars tied to them, but this week, according to reports, Rachel Adams could be in talks right now with HBO in becoming the new female lead as a police detective. Her deal has not been finalized just yet, so her role is still pending. HBO has decided not to comment on anything show related when asked for comments by online sources.
Abigail Spencer has been in the news recently regarding the posting of an x-rated tape that surfaced online. The tape, however, is not going to keep her from focusing on her career. Like many other stars that face this type of thing, Abigail Spencer is planning to move forward from it and refuses to comment on it for that reason.
The True Detective television series premiered in January of this year on HBO and featured Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, who are both executive producers of the show as well. The first season showcased just 8 episodes, but gained a major following as many of the dramatic 1-hour television series often do.
Main characters that join McConaughey and Harrelson include Michelle Monaghan, Michael Potts and Tory Kittles. Season 2 is also going to feature 8 episodes with all of them written by creator Nic Pizzolatto. This time around, each episode will be directed by a different person, unless the first season.
